Getting Started
I already have a domain name. Can I use it?
Absolutely! Whether you leave your domain registered with your existing provider or transfer it here, we can work with that. Transferring your domain is highly recommended, as it allows us to auto-configure your settings whenever they need to change.
If you choose to use your own domain name provider, we will provide instructions whenever settings need to change on their service, and you will be responsible for adjusting them.
How Do I Move My Existing Site?
Migrating to Counterwave Hosting is simple if you know or have access to your site’s FTP or SFTP credentials and can enter them in the client portal. If not, connect with our support team and they’ll show you how to get started… or even do it for you if you like. There are several paths you can choose from, starting with whether you’re creating a new site or migrating an existing one. Regardless of your goals, you’ll need hosting, so the best approach in most cases is to start by picking your plan .

So I’ve created a website. Now What?
The simple answer is: create. Whether you choose to begin with one of our nearly 200 prebuilt themes or start from scratch with a blank canvas, that canvas is yours. To get started select your site on the dashboard in your client portal and press the small circled “W” at the far right (the WordPress logo) to start setting up and customizing your new home on the web.
What are the limitations of the Core hosting plan?
The core plan is our simplest and most cost-effective, and works well for small blogs, resumes, link in bio sites, and other simple projects. Shops, portfolios, and advanced sites requiring more robust features are more suited for the Plus plan and above.
